Workshop on Approximation Theory and Fast Algorithms

This Mecklenburger Workshop continues a long-standing series of conferences on various issues related to approximation theory since 1989. This year’s workshop is dedicated to the 65th birthday of Prof. Dr. Jürgen Prestin and the 70th birthday of Prof. Dr. Winfried Sickel.

Date and Venue

  • April 7-11, 2025 (Monday, 1pm, to Friday, noon) at Schloss Hasenwinkel https://tagungsschloss.de
  • Conference fee: 300€ (including lunch, dinner, and coffee breaks)
  • Accomodation: single room 95€/night, shared double room 69€/night (including breakfast)

  • Kateryna Pozharska (Technische Universität Chemnitz and National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine). Recent developments in sampling recovery and discretization
  • Holger Rauhut (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München). The implicit bias phenomenon in deep learning
  • Felix Voigtlaender (Katholische Universität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt). Rates of approximation by multivariate ridge functions and shallow neural networks
